Our History
From trading house to export mill
Pre-1947
Rice farming and trading is part of the family’s heritage, going back to Karnal, India.
1990
Rana Rice Mills founded as a trading house in Narowal’s Rice Wholesale Market.
1998
Diversified into rice milling, relocating to the current site on the main Lahore–Shakargarh road in the Kalar Belt — a small unit with local, Chinese and Japanese machinery, husking 5 tons of paddy an hour.
2020
Installed a brand-new 13-ton-per-hour SATAKE plant in February, becoming the largest milling facility in the region. Landed the company’s first international order, with the first shipment sent to Saudi Arabia.
Today
An integrated facility processing Brown Cargo, White Milled, Parboiled and Pre-Steamed rice — including PK-386, Super Kernel Basmati and Kainat 1121 — with three silos holding 3,009 tons of storage.

CEO & FOUNDER
The visionary founder of Rana Rice Mills, Muhammad Shabbir began his journey in the rice trade as a broker facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers. Under his leadership, RRM has evolved into a trusted name in rice production, processing and export.
Rana Hassan Shabbir
DIRECTOR OF PROCUREMENT
Son of Muhammad Shabbir, Hassan joined in 2015 and leads sourcing of high-quality raw materials to local and international standards, strengthening RRM’s supplier network and traceability.
Rana Faisal Shabbir
DIRECTOR EXPORT
Son of Muhammad Shabbir, Faisal joined in 2017 to build RRM’s presence in international markets, securing the first international order in 2020. RRM now supplies the UK, Spain, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Italy.
Rana Mohsin Shabbir
DIRECTOR FINANCE
Son of Muhammad Shabbir, Mohsin joined in 2018 and oversees financial planning, budgeting, investment strategy and risk management, and is active in securing government tenders.
